Cinny Sun Co products are designed to help reduce your child's exposure to UV radiation and loud noise during outdoor activities. Please read this disclaimer, and the care and use instructions provided with your product, before use.

1. General

No product can eliminate all risk of sun exposure, noise exposure or injury. Our products are designed as one part of a broader sun- and hearing-safety approach — always supervise children while wearing and using our products.

2. Sun protection

Our UPF-rated fabrics are designed and tested with reference to AS/NZS 4399 (sun protective clothing). For best protection:

  • combine sun-protective clothing with shade, broad-spectrum sunscreen and hydration
  • follow the care instructions on the garment label — UPF rating can reduce with wear, washing and sun exposure over time
  • check fit regularly as your child grows, as an ill-fitting hat may not provide full coverage

3. Hearing protection

Where products include earmuff components, these are sourced with reference to CE EN 352-1  (acoustics — hearing protectors). For hearing protection to be effective:

  • earmuffs must be correctly fitted and form a full seal around the ear
  • always supervise fitting and wear, particularly with young children
  • hearing protection reduces, but does not eliminate, noise exposure — use additional judgement (such as distance from the noise source) in very loud environments
  • if you have specific concerns about your child's hearing, consult a healthcare professional

4. Choking, strangulation and entrapment

  • check all components (ties, straps, buckles, magnets) before each use and discontinue use if damaged or loose
  • follow the age and size guidance provided for each product
  • our products are not designed or intended for unsupervised sleep or use
  • keep small components and packaging away from young children

5. Water safety (Splasharoo swim range)

Swim products are designed for sun and, where applicable, hearing protection near water — they are not a flotation device or safety aid. Active, constant adult supervision is required at all times when children are in, on or near water.

6. Compliance

We design our children's products with reference to applicable Australian Standards, including AS/NZS 8120:2023 (children's product safety) and, for sunglasses, AS/NZS 1067.1:2016. Compliance testing is conducted through independent testing bodies as products are finalised.

7. If something's not right

If you notice damage, a fault, or a safety concern with any Cinny Sun Co product, stop using it immediately and contact us at cinnysunco@gmail.com.
